Left You. Poem by Cal Riley

Left You.

I left you with my heart,
I know I hid it rather well.
I couldnt take it with me,
If I did, it was the shell.

I left you with my heart,
As you're the only place it's safe.
I swapped my heart with yours
And then it went and got misplaced.

You never new you had it,
As I never left a clue.
I went and did my damage,
It was only then I new.

I should have took it with me,
Or just followed it, with you.
As I had done all year long,
Proved the best thing i could do.

I thought I had your heart,
But all i have is just a plaque.
It stands beside a flower,
With an eyeball on the back.

It reminds of my joy for you,
Feelings i have ever known.
Before you crashed into my world
And forced me into the unknown.

And here is where I stay,
I can not make one more step.
My life has been delayed
Because I couldnt do the prep.
