Canine wag of tail
exhibits gratitude
Human wag of tail
shows attitude!

When you celebrate
human doggedness,
Why can't you welcome
canine humility?

Orphans of animal kingdom
that ask for nothing.

Deities of thankfulness
that thieve nothing.

Behold these busy bees
with mutilated limbs
looking for a mouthful on
a mond of rotten garbage.
What a wretched and
woeful life!

Poor pals struggling for
survival in the heartless
fold of human atrocity!

You need not shelter the stray ones.
But never shoo them away.

Need not pat, nor caress
But never pelt them, nor bruise.

Scare them not
Leave them free.
