Made a revisit today.Enjoyed reading this beautiful poem once again. And rendered my eyes moist, as I was reminded of my mother who used tell me a million stories from the Indian Myths, the Greek myths, the Panchatantra, the Kathaasaritsagara and whatnot.
A wonderful poem on mothers and their influence. It gave me fond memories of my own mother, who could sing like a bird. Thanks for posting this! Five stars!
Oh, how deeply precious! .. Incredible meaning and beauty shown all the way through! .. Many blessings! .. Definite 5 Stars! ..+++++
After father, this one on mother too has moved me...it’s one of the best I have read in a long time
The story of a red bird. Reading this reminded nevif my mom narrating beautiful stories to liftl our know morales. I was really emotional when I read this poem. It showed the gratitude and the bond with the Post's mother. Sooo blessed to read this again and again.
Nice hearing to your childhood stories, the way your mom take cared.10
Continued: .......So many similarities between you and me, Dr. Geeta. That rebel soul, constantly wandering. Such a wonderful feel to know how much your Mother wished you to be as you are now! Such a strong love bond between mother-daughter. Mesmerizing, Dr. Geeta. Thank you so much for sharing this precious story poem. A Full 10 Score
WOW! This poem touches my very being, so passionately told how your dear Mother is still nearest to you through this most beautiful lamp beautifully carved. How a wise mother is she to give you this precious lamp. Each time you put it on, Mother appears in your thoughts and the rest. All the stories she told you in your early years, make the person as you are now.
This is unbelievably captivating- A leaf from your childhood days. It brings out so many things in one go- your love of nature, minute observation of flora and fauna, mother - daughter relationship. Thanks, Geeta ji.
I refused to obey easily. A wonderful piece of poetry. Salute to you Dr. Poetess
hi, geeta! this is my first time reading this that i can remember, and it's a charming piece. i can't think of a close parallel in my own life; i like that the red bird has the dual qualities of guardian and disciplinarian. you probably know that jesus asserts to his disciples that angels watch over children. hoping this finds you well, glen
Hello Glen, Just wondered how i did not reply to this comment. These are true episodes of life sharply etched in my memory. Yes, the red bird has dual qualities of a guardian, just like the angels watching over children. This is the way my beloved Mother taught me. Thank you for this charming comment as well, Glen
My mother in the garb of the red bird prevents me from falling And guides me through a path of divine light! A nice gratitude of a great daughter to her great mother.
Thank you Jazib for visiting my page and reading this poem.
A gifted poetess brought up by a mother with great wisdom, little wonder your poems are so well written and filled with emotions. It didn't bring tears to my eyes but I felt a lump in my throat! Thanks Geeta
Thank you Loke! Happy that it brought a lump into your throat. That shows your emotion and a sensitive heart. Bless you, my friend.
Dang it, you put tears in my eyes! Your Mother was such a good mother, wasn't she? And she lives in you as surely as you live and breathe. She had a lot of wisdom, this beautiful Mother of yours. She didn't tame you- -she was wise enough to let you tame yourself to the degree you needed taming- no more, no less. Now when I see a red bird, I will think of your Mother and you, her beloved daughter. This was a warm and loving write and I am putting it on my fav list so I can read it again and get tears in my eyes. 10+++++++++++++
Hi Susan, with your emotional comment, you have brought tears to my eyes too. You understand perfectly the mother daughter relationship. A unique bond unsurpassed! Thank you most heartily, dear Susan! Stay blessed!
