Probably the most brilliant poem ever written about love The last line stuns with its sheer depth

“Le Monocle de Mon Oncle” is a poem about art and explores the relationship of sexuality to art. That's what the critics say. I'm stuck back there on the mountainside with the mules who are daintily making their way along the narrow path. This I understand and approve. Once upon a time, a silly mare jumped off the mountain trail, a perfectly good trail but off she jumped. I now ride mules along narrow mountain trails- they move daintily and sure-footedly and are not prone to suicidal behavior. What does that have to do with the relationship of sexuality to art? Don't partner up with silly females that are prone to vapors or you won't live long enough to create art.
