The wind speaks to you again, but this time it's far beyond the horizon. Contemplating the meaning of death while we're alive is a conundrum for me. Before my brother died, he wanted me to explain to him how typical ideas about life, death, and religion make sense... I felt and still feel bad that I could not provide this comfort to him.

Here the wind represents the answers and they are beyond the horizon. I would not be able to explain what lies there because I honestly don't know. It is very hard to comfort someone who is dying. In my case I have lots of support but in truth it helps but a tiny bit. Yet - I'm OK, got a few years left I think.

Lazarus and that's not it at all are referencing The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock where Lazarus returns from the dead to explain what it's all about and gets the reply that's not it at all. My poem says that even though some pretend to know, even a child's wisdom knows they don't.

Enjoyed the poem, but I must have missed something. I read it twice and couldn't see what it had to do with Lazarus.
