Lay Me Down, Let Me Sleep. Poem by Chloe Lubinska

Lay Me Down, Let Me Sleep.

Lay me down, let me sleep.
Reunite where life began.
The wind will echo memories,
Weave my soul through the land.

I'm home now, in the earth,
I will not turn or cry.
Your love I felt above the mirth,
Follows me beyond this life.

Im the silence in the air you breathe,
I may not speak, I am unseen.
But every breath you take of me,
Is everything I need to be.

Touch your soul and try to find,
What lulls you to sleep.
Feel the tears beneath your eyes,
And rolling down your cheek.

Your grief is not a weakness,
It's never weak to love.
Find strength in all I left,
A footprint from above.

It's my footprints in your heart,
From the journey ended soon.
Our journey forked apart,
On roads leading to one room.

In that room, again, we'll meet,
For now, I'll love you far away.
I'll wait until you fall asleep,
And love you in the other place.
