Come back to me my love
Like an unexpected whiff of perfume
From the lavender fields of Provence.
Is it too late to wish for?
An extended Indian summer’ greeting
When winter is just around the corner
And snowfall might come early
And puts a chill in my bones.
I have no control over
Nature’s changing weather patterns,
But your lavender scent
Will last me as long as I shall live.
For I have captured
Summer’s essence in my heart,
In the memories of my youth
From my one true love,
And these memories
Will keep me warm and content,
Till the day we are reunited
Beyond the doubts of love!
