Lasting Impressions Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Lasting Impressions

Lasting impression
On my life
Of all my victories
Of loosing fights

Of times
That I soared
Times
I had to dive

My solitary pains
My happy times
Some gains

My loves
In whom
I lost myself
My rejections
Where I found
My battered
Remains

Places I carved
A niche
But soon abandoned
Fleeing the bliss

Times
When self identity
Was at stake
Good times
When I seldom
Made mistakes

From nobody
To somebody
To anybody
A, face in the
Crowd
I have lived it all
And of that
I am proud

Yes! I am
Who I am
Today
For all
the experiences
I have gained
Times that
I was maimed

For some
I am dark
For others
My ugliness
Is too stark

Most find me
Harmless
But still
Think
I need
A harness

All that I am
Is a figment
Of your imagination
Soon to spirit away
In quite resignation.
