Last Wish Poem by Hossain Shohag

Last Wish

Everyone fights to win; I fight to lose at you—
To lose at you is my great victory, it's true.
Everyone fears death, but love fears not a thing—
It makes one brave, to accept all it can bring.

I never realized why wine was banned—
Until I fell for you, now I understand.
Is there anything more alcoholic than your love—
Or anything more hellish than separation above?

My love, there's nothing sweeter than your kiss—
Nothing brings more peace than your hug, it's bliss.
So kiss me before I am kissed by death—
Before it comes to steal away my breath.

It's my last wish to have your pure loving hug—
And then die forever, as immortal SHOHAG.
