Last Summer Evening Poem by Soran M. H

Last Summer Evening

Rating: 5.0

Oh! This quiet, sorrowful evening!

Everything seems to be saying
Lonely, you will be left there
Hearing the shout of
Strange clouds
Watching flocks of doves
Quickly disappear from the sky
Toward the high hills
Untouched by
This sad evening shadow

Abandoned cat in a corner of ruins
Meows low
No one cares if it is
Sick or hungry!
Even those women in dark cloaks
That exit in groups silently
From the consolation of white words
They don’t even turn their heads backward

Everything is saying
It’s a departure time
And all the grey colour of this evening
Falls on your lips

You have a stunning way of using just the right word and then stringing these right words together to increase their power and the depth to which they reach into our hearts.. 10+++++++++++ and onto my favorites

definitely that is one of my technique of writing a poem, it is living inside me for long time until I realize it is the right time to put it down on the paper, it needs a lot of hard work, yes you are right, thanks Susan for your comment

Dear poet and critic Valsa George, your opinion and views are important to me, while the main source of poetry is the soul, and soul will never get old or die, that is why your poems will stay young all the time, thanks again

Every parting in life is sad! So is the parting summer evening! Everything that we behold in this dull evening is a symbol of melancholy and drabness! Here I feel the end of summer is symbolic of the end of youthful days when one is about to step into old age.... a time of lesser health, lesser cheer and lesser activity! Beautifully written, dear poet friend Soran! Love your insightful comments on my poems! Thanks! Top marks!

The superb imagery and how this poem was crafted is just brilliant. A great poem woven by a perceptive mind and who has a keen eye on the events of humanity. A brilliant write. To my Poem List.

A deeply moving and engaging poem. Poignant yet so wonderfully written. The prevalent reasons why we depart from a place is due to hardship, famine or war or we just want to seek greener pastures. When we are forced to leave a place due to hardship, we want to move as fast as we can for our survival.
