Last Rendezvous Poem by Wamii Flyer

Last Rendezvous

An ogre girl, hair disheveled
Holding a dandelion, with seeds spread

Slowly burning from the Sun's heat
A bit late to her meeting with the mermaid, who's quite petite
She wanders through the back street
White pappuses falling on smashed concrete
With her earphones out, she listens to the phantom bird's tweet

She finally arrives at an abandoned pool
The closer she gets to her jewel
The more she loses her cool
Walking up to her girlfriend sitting on an elevated stool

Her tail wrapped around the ogre's arm
They both share the sunlight's charm

Deep into the midnight
These two cling tight
Enjoying the view, the sight
Of ghosts taking their last flight

The ogre checks her melting clock
She feels intense feelings of pure shock
Death is right at her door, ready to knock

She hugs her sweet mermaid for the last time
On a Saturday evening, the bells start to chime
Turning her entire existence into nothing but ashes

The pretty mermaid, careless
Fixes her damp dress

Blowing her lover's dust away
She squirms over to another lover, sitting alone at the bay
For her, love is like chasing a prey
A toy for her to play
Then throw away

''I love you forever, don't I? ''
