Last Dance Poem by Emma Jane Rae

Last Dance

Rating: 4.0

Something has stirred,
And it's left me unsettled,
A tingling of the skin,
Like being stung by nettles,
Some things have been said,
That have rattled my cage,
Leaving me sad,
And full of rage,
Time after time,
Chance after chance,
There is no more tango,
We've had our last dance,
A sorrowful dance,
That has left my heart broken,
My tormented mind,
From words that were or weren't spoken,
Everyday I still wish,
You would choose me,
But you will never be,
Who I want you to be,
The man I fell in love with,
Who held my hand tight,
Who loved me and laughed with me,
Each and every night,
I wish I wasnt inlove with this stranger,
Who lied and cheated,
And put my life in danger,
Who put drink before our little family,
Who put taking drugs before loving me,
9months on, and I feel even worse.
Oh my god this really does hurt!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

2) In relationships one need to love/care/consider the other person for what he is. Need to understand that the only person one can change/alter is oneself. Not the other person…

" But you will never be, Who I want you to be" is a revelation one may have deeper in relationships. This happens because one fails to understand the other person as a different person, a different individual. (Contd)
