Land Without Thunder. Poem by Edwin Owade

Land Without Thunder.

Fiery clouds of terror,
Hovering above our serene motherland,
From east to west,
Igniting sparks of suffering and thunderbolts of deaths,
Below,
Showering the fertile earth crust,
With its toxic torrents,
Majestically percolating beneath the surface.
Bitter sap naively absorbed,
From the roots up the dense foliage,
To the opening buds that gives hope,
Ultimately,
Sweeping away the humus of life to the land without thunder.
Withering the epitome of humanity to extinction,
Taking life of young and a creatures so beautiful,
But,
Through the seed of unity,
It left a mark,
A reminder of memories we lost.

Land Without Thunder.
