Nice poem about a difficult time, sound's like you school days weren't very nice and I know how unpleasant that can be.
she wore a frown out of habit, never smiled because she was a nun and got none, enjoyed fearful kids on the run, Catholic nuns were legendary for strictness but there always seemed to be one legendary mean; I have never understood constant nasty, how can anyone live like that, but sometimes modelling our personality opposite to a bad example is just as good or more effective than a positive example, nice poem down memory lane.
Now this poem is a work of art! No smiles, seeping fear, the freedom that comes with the ringing of the bells, I love it! !
I hope that's not an actual picture of the nun in the poem. She might sue you. Thank goodness I never had a teacher like that. All my teachers were great, which helped make my decision to become a teacher myself. Great poem, by the way.
