In the village they call her the dark girl
but to me she is the flower Krishnakali

Beautiful poem. A sensitive heart like of Tagore finds and describes beauty with great tenderness of any color and shape. We can close our eyes and feel and imagine the beauty of those dark eyes with black hair and dark complexion through his words.

A time when dark colour was considered a negative attribute to beauty, Tagore could find it in a dark girl. Great thought and the more a great poem

In the India of the poet, the colour of dark is a still a problem. We can read that in the poem. The poem is era bound, because of the lines: She had no covering on her head, her loose hair had fallen on her back. We can guess which period this is. These subtle notes makes the mystery in the poem. Great write by a great poet. I like the flow very much. Magnificent poem. Rereading it, more joy to experience.

The tint of dark is discussed by the poet. That same gazelle eyes, the eyes-pupils in brown, my eldest son has too, only he has a light skin, the form of gazelle eyes are the most beautiful eyes for persons. He has seen her gazelle eyes! Now-now the poet was very near to her. Congratulations being chosen as The Classic Poem Of The Day, to the poet´s great family. The poem shows the romantic male nature of the poet.
