Knight In The Altar Poem by Enchanting Owl

Knight In The Altar

Rating: 5.0

As the time rolled by, my emotions went haywire.
Disquiet and melancholy burned my eyes like they were on fire.
Seeing you with someone who is building your future,
Half of me had been lost and dead—a feast for the vulture.

The traffic light went green, a flood of tears were shed.
My melancholia is alive, and my sanguine self is dead.
In the church, holding the rings needed on that altar,
You stood there and took vows; the bells were rung by the psalter.

Watching your eyes sparkle at her, you were happy.
I stabbed the sword deep into my heart, and I became sappy.
Then your head faced mine, and I faked the jocular smile.
I walked away before I fell, going to the sad isle.

Staring at the vast blue sky, I could see your face.
The pain was painted in the stars; the agony was embraced.
On this bed, I drowned in misery and closed my eyes.
My heart lost its beat, and I slept like an eternal ice.
