Humanity bleeds in the claws of a sinister Dragon
Life withers and twists like brittle leaves
Breath becomes laboured and cough breaks forth
Sounding like echoes heard inside a cave
The castles we built of quicksand tumble down
Man is forced to keep aloof from man
As nearness turns a threat as for a rose
That has got scarred by its own thorns
People are locked within four walls
And desperately look for doors of exit
Men slip off into the abyss of death
Not in hundreds, but in thousands each day
Presaging our end can be as soundless
As a droplet slithering down from a blade of grass
As man and Science thus become powerless
To decipher the hieroglyphics of fate,
Stop shaking your fist in defiance at God
But kneel down in humility and cry your heart out
See Him as the sail and hull of your ship
And trust the one who alone can calm the storm
Let Him mercifully wash away the sins of the world
Let us now knock down the handcuffs of hatred
And break free of all shackles of greed and pride
That, we like phoenix from the ashes, shall rise!
I like how the great Poetess had presented this poem. It expresses in brilliant detail and beautiful words the sufferings of men. So vividly portrayed that a reader could feel the greatest fear of....death.
Our faith in God Almighty is often tested in times of uncertainty. When we are at our most vulnerable state, we tend to cling to His power and wait his favorable action for our ardent prayers. Yet, sometimes we might not be able to get any answer in a flick of the finger. We have to wait and sometimes in waiting, doubts cloud the minds of.people on His power to.heal and bring order.
A powerful poem of deep faith, insightful and uplifting. An excellent write beautifully crafted in its form and contents. It has that power of.persuasion. that could fuel the mind of a reader to go with the thoughts of the.great Poetess... to kneel and pray to God Almighty.
Does " a sinister Dragon" refer to China? Is " nearness" being a " threat" an innuendo to the current pandemic?
My God! This is a very powerful poem that entails a dire warning for those who hold God in despite, all in the name of science which in itself is a scion of the Almighty. The expression " castles we built of quicksand" cleverly depicts our precarious hold on " success" which we venerate, but they are ultimately in dearth of the true plinth, God.
Your poem is a humble Bea, simple flea and earnest plea to the god to show grace on human race in appealing manner. Yes rarely but surely god hits with such virus. Best way is to be in humble supplication before God of death. A very impressive words flowed into a first class rhyme 👍 👌👌👌!
Amazing work. You have always been wonderful and a fantastic poet

The ultimate stanza contains powerful words igniting the minds of readers to unite and rise from this adversity. Yes, this is not the time to sow hatred. It is the time of healing and understanding. And we can conquer this darkness by the power of our Faith. In God's own time, we can beat Covid 19. A great poem. A poetic gem. Ontoy Poem List.
