You sleep and I watch --
tired, but happy
with you, a dream
that has come true
With you, I know more
of happiness, with you
I know myself more
With you, I am new
With you, the world is full
of your wonder
Together we fold ourselves
around you into a safe house
where you discover the wonders
of the world, the squeak
of the rose-ringed parakeets and
the carpet of winter aconite
And I watch
along with you, with your finger
pointing into the world
and then back to you
