Kindness In Vain Poem by Britney Hogue

Kindness In Vain

I was there for you.
I have always been there for you.
When you were happy
So was I,
When you cried
I held your head,
And cried with you,
When you felt the pain,
I did as well.
I have done and would do
Anything in my power
To make things great for you,
For I am your friend.
But now I look at this
And now wonder,
Do I not deserve the same.
If I was weeping,
Would you not console me,
Or in pain, would you not heal my wounds,
As I have for you?
I guess I am not worthy,
And all my kindness was in vain.
