POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Kerouac was a notorious drunk. And a literary genius. So tragic that the alcohol killed him at such an early age!

This is a tough poem. It tells the bitter truth without any sugar-coating of the facts. An alcoholic is living a life of slow suicide. Only he can save himself ultimately but the odds are against him. In one of Jack Nicholson's films an Indian man tells him, That liquor bottle just sucked up my daddy's soul.

Daniel, it was a tough write. He was one of several literary geniuses who drank himself to death. Interestingly enough, he had an exceptional memory. Thanks for the Nicholson reference. Which movie?

But it must be acted upon urgently or the brain cells can be dead. One must not carry his debt to the other world. Thanks a lot. RIP Dear Kerouac.

Alcoholism provokes thought. This may kill a person and all should avoid it. An amazing poem is drafted wisely for social awareness....10
