I enjoyed reading this, with it's fun rhyme scheme and ageless message. -chuck
Nothing more to add that hasn't already been said, Ernestine. I agree with every comment. So I'll just leave it at that and say I have enjoyed reading this excellent piece of work. Love, Fran xxx
*****ERNESTINE NORTHOVER***** now there's a name worth putting up in lights, in-fact there is a person who we should be truly greatful to have around and learn from so I say again *****ERNESTINE NORTHOVER*****, what a wonderful poet and a beautiful soul, Love duncan X
Ernestine, what a charming work filled with questions and more than a little angst. As one who was 60 before she ever put finger to keyboard, I say to you write on fair shrew, and charm the reader with your wisdom and your experience and you unique perception of the world. Long Live All Poets - old and young! love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxxx
The answer is YES...we will still need you at 64! Never stop writing, you are a delight: -) New Years Blessings! Debora
Splendid work Ernestine! Please keep compiling, I love your pieces they flow so peaceful and have such deep meaning, as in this one!
Ernestine...shall only agree with the two before me, your way for writes have shown that you will always continue in being poetically verse....And this poem is proof
Ernestine>>>Poetry's peak gauge is like a professional sport in reverse... It is the ripe & seasoned Poet's who would make up a Poetic All-Star Team.... Wisdom & execution are best employed with a many years under the belt...Thank God literature, can be a lifelong, vintaged endeavour....As like a fine wine, it gets better with age..A fine write, indeed, young lady....Love poems about poetry! Frank
Hope springs eternal and your mere 63 years is no barrier to the creative process as this poem shows Ernestine. And working within a tight structure that this feckless youth couldn't cope with. On the evidence of this, you've plenty of years yet before you should be thinking '...... but something ere the end, Some work of noble note, may yet be done, '. Authentic poetry. I really enjoyed it.
I think I will go on writing until I kick the bucket. I read somewhere that poets rarely find fame before they're dead. Typical isn't it? Lovely poem, Andrew x
