A heart touching poem. Liked every bit of expression but three lines that impressed me are: 'Now I just get immersed in your love' and I would walk down sometimes/The solitary lane in your memory...magnificent translation!

Thank you Susan. This is one of the first translations by me of poems by this gifted poet Kavita (and Susan, Kavita means Poem/poetry) . I thought it would be very easy. But My limited vocabulary is a constraint to capture the true mood of the original. I am not satisfied by what I have done. Someone better could do a better job.. Your appreciation-credit goes to Kavita Singh, Which I shall convey to her. Thank you on her behalf as well as mine... Thank you for all the good words Susie. I do wish you read the original, which is far better poetry and you, one of the best one, I have ever read.. I wish I could give a 100+ for your comment.

Very true Nosheen. A gem of a poem. I know you have read the original. And would have understood, how badly I have rendered it in English. Kavita writes beautifully. A truly talented poet. Should go a long way. Could be another Nosheen ion the days ahead.. I spend my time on ph in search of good poetry. And good poetry is what I get here. So good to be here..PH is doing such a wonderful service.

I have often wondered that it must be very difficult to translate a poem because you need to hold onto the poets original mesage. You have done this beautifully, it's a heartfelt love poem :)

Thank you Frances. Yes, surely the poem is an exquisite poem of love. But I do doubt how much of the original I have captured. For all your appreciation, the credit goes to Kavita. She is quite talented. I just wanted to show-case her talent for my dear friends like you, who do not understand Hindi, though I am quite aware that mine is limited..
