Hi Lyn, This poem is a translation of poem Intezaar in Hindi by Ms Kavita Singh. The original so beautifully done by Kavita. My translation may not measure upto the original. Still you liked the poem, which is a glowing tribute Kavita. And incidentally, the word Kavita means poetry. Deeply obliged for your time and the good words..

these two lines, especially since they follow one another in the same little stanza, make me wonder why the speaker says what he/she says.
