In India, members elected to legislatures are constantly being pestered to defect to opposition parties, with the idea of toppling the Government. This is a chronic and real threat under which most state Governments are forced to function. There is an Anti-Defection Law; but it is not very effective.
The threatof Operation Kamala is haunting Congress and JD(S) MLAs in Karnataka. With abundant caution, these leaders have been placed in isolation in Eagleton Resort.They are not even allowed to speak with their families. But they are being well taken care of otherwise.
In Karnataka, the ruling Congress+JDS coalition is being threatened by oppositon BJP and the members of the ruling parties are housed in isolation in a resort so that BJP cannot approach them before trust vote is taken in legislature!
