pre-poll bitter foes
attacking throats, for years
postpoll marriage vows
sad, heaven nowhere near
early divorce, one fears

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In karnataka, two minority parties JDS and Congress, have joined together, postpoll, to form a coalition Government. It is unholy, as they fought each other bitterly during elections.
People voted for their favourite parties assuming they were bitter foes. Now foes are happily getting married. Voters, the ultimate masters, have been badly let down. An immoral marriage can't last.

Tanka poem has 5,7,5,7,7 syllables in lines 1,2,3,4,5.
