Karkadakam's Symphony Poem by Vinaya Joseph

Karkadakam's Symphony

In Karkadakam, the rain descends, a symphony so grand,
A verdant cloak envelopes the land,
Emerald green, the paddy fields stand,
Drenched in monsoon's tender hand.

The skies, a canvas of slate and gray,
Whispering tales of yesteryears' fray,
Thunder's drum, lightning's bright display,
Karkadakam unfolds in nature's ballet.

Elephants trumpet in the distant woods,
As rivers swell with newfound moods,
The scent of earth, in countless broods,
A month of healing, where life intrudes.

Nourishment from heaven's spout,
Every leaf and blade, a vibrant shout,
Karkadakam, a time to devout,
In faith and health, to cleanse the drought.

At dawn, the temple bells chime clear,
A ritual chant that many revere,
Through holy hymns, the gods draw near,
Karkadakam, a month we hold dear.

The Nilavilakku, its oil fed glow,
Guides the steps of those who know,
In silent prayer, their spirits flow,
Through Karkadakam's serene tableau.

Ayurveda's wisdom comes to fore,
With herbs and oils, it does restore,
In every home, from roof to floor,
The scents of healing, we adore.

Panchakarma, with tender care,
Cleanses the body, layer by layer,
In Karkadakam, health we repair,
In nature's lap, so fair and rare.

The month, a pause from life's fast pace,
A time to heal, to seek solace,
To find in rain, a sweet embrace,
And in the wind, a gentle grace.

The poet's quill, it moves with ease,
Inspired by the whispering trees,
And the song of rain, the buzzing bees,
In Karkadakam, such simple pleas.

The fields of paddy, drenched in rain,
Their emerald beauty, a soothing gain,
As farmers plant, their hopes sustain,
Through Karkadakam's nourishing chain.

The children dance in puddles deep,
Their laughter rises, memories keep,
As elders watch, their secrets seep,
In Karkadakam's tender sweep.

The aroma of Kanji, steaming hot,
A humble meal, yet treasured a lot,
With Payar and Pappadam, a savory plot,
Karkadakam's warmth in every spot.

The nights grow cool, the frogs begin,
Their croaking songs, a rhythmic din,
A lullaby where dreams spin,
In Karkadakam, sleep's gentle win.

Oft forgotten, the busy days,
The quiet nights, the peaceful ways,
In Karkadakam, the heart stays,
In nature's arms, amidst the haze.

Through endless rains, the land is quenched,
The earth's thirst, so deeply entrenched,
In Karkadakam, by love drenched,
A symphony of life, so perfectly clenched.

In each droplet, a story told,
Of love, of life, of days of old,
In Karkadakam, the world unfolds,
A timeless tale, forever bold.

And when the rains do finally wane,
And sunlight breaks the clouds' refrain,
Karkadakam leaves, yet still remains,
In hearts and minds, its sweet domain.

So here we sing, of Karkadakam,
A month of life, in nature's psalm,
A season's breath, so pure and calm,
A time of grace, a healing balm.

In every home, its essence felt,
As families gather, prayers knelt,
Karkadakam, where spirits melt,
Into a love, forever dealt.

The poet's pen may rest at last,
Yet memories of Karkadakam cast,
A shadow soft, where dreams are vast,
In monsoon's arms, where peace is fast.

So let us cherish, each raindrop's kiss,
The month of Karkadakam, a bliss,
In every heart, may it persist,
A melody of life, we cannot miss.
