Kali Yuga Poem by Jinnuraine Jaigirdar

Kali Yuga

If you come quickly,
Time will pass —
In joy and celebration.
Now is the hour;
If only I could return
To the sweetness of childhood's laughter.

The Kali Yuga is upon us —
Rhetoric reigns from the pulpit,
Courtesy and grace
Have vanished into the abyss of time.
Now is the hour — come softly,
Let the drum of joy resound again.

The whole town lies in ashes,
Bodies tremble beneath power's shadow.
What is fear, what is honour, in this world,
When civilisation itself stands shamed?
Time slips away in silence —
Come, let there be music in the forest,
If that rhythm can awaken our lost diversity.

Awake, O living ones!
Do not remain lifeless —
Raise your voices with the dawn,
Gather your courage,
Let rebellion bloom with fragrance.
Beat the drums —
Send the war-music to the mountains!
Now is the hour — break your chains,
Let the earth tremble in the divine.
