...At the brink...of moral..oblivion
Sitting here thinking it all through...
Why is voting in ones own best interest
.....Seemingly...so difficult....to do
Days leading up to Election 2016
....'Twas....back then...that I wrote
Of Supreme Court's critical importance
...And hence....the necessity...to vote
Couldn't have been anymore specific
....Factually spelling...it all out
At least fifty years judicial bondage...
The Court its clout beyond a doubt
...Thus..our children's...children saddled
Their future freedoms literally overrun...
With religion's intolerant intrusions
...Legally...for decades...to come
*
*
Having failed to vote in our best interest
....Obviously...it was so easy....to do....
Even under threat...of moral annihilation
...Just sittn' here thinking....it through

(The following message, initially posted to my Facebook page,30 October 2015, and repeatedly....thereafter.)
"The Supreme Court, and its make-up remains the critical issue in Election 2016. As political pawns of both Democrats and Republicans, we the voting public have little power of self-defense. But that "little power" stands awesome if only we awaken and collectively grasp the understanding that the current campaign is overwhelmingly about control of the U S Supreme Court. The Republican agenda; seize Election 2016, and via the Presidency pack the U S Supreme Court. And through that protracted mantra, "Control the Court, " - - in turn, as Justice Scalia would have it - "control" the Nation for years to come. The following Jeff Greenfield narrative places the Presidency in crucial perspective."
~James B. Earley
"The most significant of all presidential powers- the making of war not excepted- is the power to nominate Supreme Court justices. A chief executive's most ambitious domestic policies may be ignored or reversed by future presidents and Congresses; a new administration can end a war. By contrast, three justices appointed more than 20 years ago cast votes last week that would have struck down the current president's key domestic achievement. Barring illness or injury to one of these justices, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush will be powerfully influencing public policy for at least another decade."
~Jeff Greenfield - commenting on June 28,2012 Supreme Court Healthcare Decision, and reminding the U S populace of the most significant of all presidential powers - the power to nominate justices to the Supreme Court
