Just Mercy Poem by Aida Roque

Just Mercy

The opposite of poverty is not wealth,
justice is. A curse, if born poor where
justice delayed is justice denied. The
judicial system denies the poor, to take
advantage of the legal law and protection.

Faces of poverty is devastation, agitation,
imprison, like a shattered wings with no
support to aspire, their hope die a natural
death and it entwine with colored people
and other races.

Their enigma terrorize, sanity, to see black,
yellow and brown face. To think, multi-diversity
destroy peace and frightened the community.
Future are incarcerated, no power to speak and
address them like filth.

Destitute people, can't afford proper legal
representation, especially the wrongfully
condemned men, they need mercy. Mass
incarceration on racial discrimination
needs redemption, Its about time..
