Just Another Sip Of My Margarita Poem by Paula Glynn

Just Another Sip Of My Margarita

I flew into glamorous Lanzarote
Sipping my sweet and refreshing margarita
Enjoying the dry and desolate hot sun
My old aggressors having not won

I am wearing my yellow bikini beside the blue sea
I love the sun's hot rays pouring down on me
I love the free people wandering around
No one upset or angry or wearing a frown

I eat at night in luxurious restaurants
Lanzarote food and drink delicious
I sleep with the breeze from the refreshing open window
Not worried about bugs getting in

I feel as if I am living in an unreal dream
And a deeply happy dream it is too
And I am glad not to be the ugly you
Still I am only here for another week

So I take another sip of my margarita
Wishing time would magically slow down
And I wouldn't be back in cold London next week
Wearing your monotonous frown.
