Just A Dream Poem by sydney conteh

Just A Dream

I held you; it was just a dream
I kissed you, just a dream
I sang to you; it was a dream
I unlocked my lungs
said everything I held back from you, it was just a dream
Just a dream
Hopefully, I should wake up soon

Since you left, I have been sleepwalking
moving lips from strangers become your voice
Every face on TV becomes your face
Just you
You even possess my "I love you"
Gave it to you as I thought you would be its sole owner
Now I struggle to say it
That's why love is often a distant dream
Just a dream
