Brrr, the nightmares are like abandoned babies of our mind who come back to us already grown up sometimes at night. The words, the images, you used are suggesting anxiety. Very good work.

The 'clot of black night' did it for me too! Nail-biting tension is built in such a short space, and oh, the relief of the closing lines. A tantalizing read! S :)

'A clot of black night over there' did it for me. Your images are vivid and I must say I was wondering what would happen next. Apparently, I screamed in my sleep last night! The happy ending was a nice relief. Well done! 10 Karin Anderson
