Here, Daniel, you touch on the difference in creation stories/understandings between the biblical and the Greek and other cultures. Genesis 1 declares, In the beginning, God. God, who is love, before creation, before time and space and the things that partake of and exist in them. In many other stories, creation precedes everything including the gods. The gods are subject to it and forces, like fate, within it, in a closed, as opposed to open, system. -Glen
