Jewish Brother Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Jewish Brother

Jewish Brother

Oh, Yusuf, brother
-dealer of spare-parts
-in market "Ekbatan"
-Cheragh-Gas of Tehran;
-You follow the Torah
-I was told: "Read Koran."

I know you closely
-and neither, frankly
-should fall for
-advertise, propaganda
-of Rabbis and Mullahs;
-nor for the governments,
-Tel Aviv's, nor Tehran's.

Both of us, our peoples
-have been born,
-have been raised
-underneath same sky,
-on a land called "Iran."

You and I, therefore are
-by no means different.

Let's unite in cursing:
- "The hell with governments
-that mean to divide us…"

Years are gone and in heart
-like today I have thought
-of the pains you absorbed
-thanks to the others' wrong!

You were the trustee
-of the Jews in Iran
- (who hurried to depart!)

They gave you gold, silver
- "Send to us, smuggle! "
-you lost them in midway…
-since fell for Radio-Jerusalem!
