I don't understand this poem at all. But somehow it appeals to me. Believe me: I've looked hard to find the connection. The line that distracts me and seems less apt than the rest of the poem is this one:
That I was only washing in a pool of disgrace
It elbows me off the track. Disgrace seems too dastardly a word: distance would be better for me, or maybe distaste to preserve the rhyme, or (at least to my ear and mind) pool of displacement
Maybe I'm off the mark entirely. I can't come up with an answer to the question, What do you think this poem is about. Maybe it's an inappropriate question for this poem, but I keep trying to answer.
Anyway, I think this has the makings of a fine poem.
