Pam.you have got right mix of ingredients while cooking or writing. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem. Wish you a very Happy New Year.
Thank you Bharati! Wishing you a lovely poetry-filled year... :)
Jette, you already are that good poet! This is an awesome write! All of the write ingredients went into this very enjoyable poem. Loved it!
Brilliant, Jette. Every poem must have its ingredients. And like the delicacies of those great chefs, those ingredients may appear and reappear as new works are finished. The real skill may be in combining those ingredients in such different ways each time, that the recipe never tastes quite the same. This goes to my favourites list.
Thanks so much MJ for reading and commenting. I'm so glad you like this one. And as far as cooking, I totally agree. Thanks!
Thanks Leah! This was simply just a fun poem to write. Take care.
Nice sentiments expressed here about the intent to write good poems!
Thanks Marvin. Yes, I always try to write good poems, worthy of the time it takes to read them and then some. Take care. :)
Wow, I love to cook and attempt to write poetry, so much said here with so few words, great job!
Thanks Bill. :) I love to cook too. Both are mixes of art and craft.
Some great Chef This poet must be If she can create Such poetic dishes That send you Into such ecstasy. But it seems to me That here you have presented Her best recipe. Loved it from beginning to end! Deliciously perfect.
Poets are regularly impressed by each other, which shows their essential humility. Each person who authentically follows a poetic path achieves something that others cannot. Collectively we personify lushness and abundance, so these lines really ring true for me: A TASTE THAT TEEMS/ THE SPACE BETWEEN MY LIPS
Thank you Denis. Your comment really resonated with me. I so love and adore good poetry. It makes our lives so much richer. As I writer, I also appreciate the craft that goes into this work...so much talent our there to make our lives more colorful, to connect us.
Beautifully creative. Hmm...those poems we read that seem to attain poetic heights that seem almost unattainable for us do eventually inspire us to write our own unique masterpeices.10+
So true! The jealousy is fleeting. Really...I just love reading a well crafted poem that hits me in the heart....like many of your poems Simone. Take care.
Following the measure of a metaphor. Beautifully crafted. And it made me smile over my glass of beer.

Jette, I have a poem which expresses similar feelings, one I wrote before I turned twenty-one. See “Village Poetry Reading.” I was reminded then that, as the moral goes from The Tortoise and the Hare, the race is not to the swift... -Glen
I beg to differ with your final confessional line...You are a truly gifted poet.
Thank you Susan! I wrote this poem after a read a beautiful poem from another poet, and I'll admit..I did feel the flickerings of a bit of jealousy mixed in with the awe and the tingling sensation one gets when reading something amazing. I guess I'm only human. :) . I also had fun with this one, throwing in a bit of rhyme, though rhyming is not my usual approach.
Jealous pen is so nicely penned....how I could ever be/as good a poet/as is she....Wonderful write..Loved the piece of work..!
