Oh my darling, sweetest one,
How I wish we breathed as one.
Close as night to moonlit streams,
Bound within our sacred dreams.
Once my secret slipped away,
Left me cold where shadows stay.
All the treasures I had gained
Fell like tears the heart had strained.
Lost within a lonely place,
Far removed from truth's embrace,
I wandered deep through grief's domain,
Yearning just to love again.
"Such is life, " a friend did say,
Yet your thought would not decay.
How I longed another's heart
Might love me true as you impart.
But all were ghosts — mere shades of light,
Reflections fading with the night.
Still I hoped through doubt and plea,
That fate would turn you back to me.
Then the clouds began to break,
Light returned for love's own sake.
Stars awoke and softly gleamed,
Guiding me through all I dreamed.
A song then rose within my chest,
Soothing sorrow into rest.
I stood upright, with spirit free,
And felt your soul still dwell in me.
Now the tears no longer stream —
Peace has crowned my soul's esteem.
Through the pain and through the gleam,
At last, my love — I've found my dream.

This is a full of sorrow and melancholy love poem :) The reflection of love that was lost and irreplaceable by any other feeling...But is that for sure? Reading the poem till the last time, i realized that the subject found what he was moaning for :) Well-written :)
