It's Not Fair To Love You Poem by Danny Speicher

It's Not Fair To Love You

It's not fair to love you as I love you
I have admired and loved from afar
As you fell in love so happy and true
I knew I needed someone just like that

It's not fair to love you as I love you
Watching you as a mother only proved
That the love you had, I once thought I knew
Was more beautiful than I'd imagined

It's not fair to love you as I love you
After all it's been a one-sided love
But, to you, it is all so very new
And, I question if I should have told you

It's not fair to love you as I love you
I sprung it on you far too soon, I know
But, I felt from the start, that truth was due
To you, the whole truth, I will never lie

It's not fair to love you as I love you
I know my chances will never be great
Your charms are many and fully in view
While mine are less and so very hidden

It's not fair to love you as I love you
But, I love you nonetheless, without choice
I simply do not know what else to do
But love from afar, even when you're near

It's not fair to love you as I love you
So, I'll, in silence, always love you
