Its Free Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Its Free

We seek it here we seek it there
We need its warmth and glow
Through Christ it should be everywhere
Yet still few people know

It heals the sick imprisons fear
Sets heart and soul aflame
Upon the cross we see it clear
When Christ removes our shame

A flowing stream of joy and peace
A treasure often sought
A wondrous gift that men release
To deeds of selfless thought

It can’t be bought nor is it lent
It frees the heart of pain
Its valueless until its spent
Though many try in vain

Its true, tangible, always real
No action of the mind
It goes beyond the way we feel
Although deaf-mute and blind

It sees no colour, knows no creed
Is never found to lie
In simplest man this noble seed
Bears fruit to glorify

Producing crops before unknown
Refined from wayward sin
A fruit befitting Heaven’s throne
Through Jesus Light within

Constant in all who Christ believe
Paving The Way above
Who knows what next man will achieve
Through faith and wondrous LOVE
