It's A Choice To Perish Poem by Doreen Mampani

It's A Choice To Perish

He woke up early morning
To look for alcohol to look for drugs
A wise old man asked the young man
Shall I say a prayer for you?

Away! Away! the young man responded
So the old man full of compassion
Uttered words of life words of wisdom
It is a choice to perish my son
Why perish when our Savior is calling you?

She danced on the nightclub floors
Drinking things she knows not the name
Smoking destructive chemicals her spirit refused
Laying with men their names she knew not

A wise man called the young woman
Told her words her ears didn't want to hear
Choosing to be flattered with deceit
It's a choice to perish

A godly woman advised the young man
Not to roam in the streets late at night
Such acts are for the wicked
Not resting until they shed innocent blood
It's a choice to perish

Abortion takes only a few seconds
One pill does it all they told her
Get rid of the thing and move on
A murderer she has become overnight
