Ithaca. (Emptiness Of A Champion) Poem by Marcondes Pereira

Ithaca. (Emptiness Of A Champion)

I.
He won the ten years' war, but he feels agony.
If he could, he would throw away all his glories.
He is a saddened leaf, and he's full of miseries.
Gods decided to him a cruel destiny.

II.
He misses his castle, his son, his wife.
Prisoner of a nymph full of love and sensuality.
Tired of beautiful landscape and an island of serenity.
He misses Ithaca, his friends, his previous life.

III.
Warrior won by the sadness and boredom.
Warrior wounded by the pleasures of eternity.
Warrior who needs to return to his kingdom.

IV.
He's just a man who misses felicity.
He's just a man who needs freedom.
He's just a man who lost his sanity.
