It Was You Who Started It Poem by Suki Nakamura

It Was You Who Started It

it was you who started it,
years, and years back, you do not anymore remember,

but i still remember that pain
that insult
that oppression and for years i grow to have this horn
this tongue of the snake
this scales of the crocodile
this sharp teeth of the shark

i have traveled the oceans and the mountains
i have searched the forest and the
all the crevices down under the earth

for years, in the silence of my pain
now, i shall face you

we shall not fight, we shall be brothers.
