It Was Night Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

It Was Night

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a day it was night
And though it was dark it was bright
The stars were as dull as flowers
The moon shined like a fog
I was alone in the forest with all my friends
We all sang loudly a non musical quiet piece
As the fire which was burning strong was going out
All of sudden for no where a bear came from somewhere
Slowly we all quickly hid by trees and tents
The empty space was full of a big scary bear
This mean creature started to talk kind and polite
He said: "I knew I could scare you but I wasn't sure
Though still full of fear we were all relieved
Feeling awake we all decided we were tired and went to bed
I walk far over to my tent that was near by
I crawled into my cold sleeping bag and was warm
Falling asleep I fell awake in a dream
Standing still I was slowly running like in a dance
Being chased by a few bears like a 100 or 2
Though they were mean they were smiling like they were happy
Wisely running I was foolishly unalert
I fell largely upward into a small hole
I felt doomed though I was relieved that the bears couldn't get me
Unsure of what would happen next I felt sure it wasn't going to be good
Suddenly I awoke and fell back to sleep
When morning finally came it was noon
Feeling still dead and tire I was glad I was awake and alive
Loudly I whispered a quiet prayer in thanks to God
