It Was Never About How You Looked Poem by Rae Seagull

It Was Never About How You Looked

Rating: 5.0

It was never about how you looked
But how you made me feel
Each time in your presence
And whenever you'd speak to me.
I still feel the same for you
Actually, a whole lot more;
If you are with me or not
You give me butterflies...I'm sure you know...
I can't seem to reason why, and I couldn't do it then
I've realised that it's quite futile; I shouldn't even try!
One thing I am certain of and which I'll never deny-
Is that, without you, my life is just a lie.

Well and excellently expressed, those feelings of 'butterfly'. They reach the reader fully, All, poetically and emotionally tied.
