There's a copy of this poem in Hazel Felleman's "Poems that Live Forever" but some of the words and phrases are different.

So glad to find a copy of this poem. I used to carry a copy of it in my Bible but somehow I lost it. I am working on a digital book of my life and I was wishing I could include this poem, now I can!

I am very happy I came upon this poem because I was thinking of it today. I recited it at the age of 8 in the island of Trinidad at my School Concert but it was by another poet. I love it and I am going to memoriize it again. It really is true that your feelings do show on your face.

Thanks for putting this on line... my mother enclosed a card with this poem in a scrapbook she made for me and I often wondered who wrote the poem as it practically guided me in my life’s walk.. I am now 62 years old

This HAS to be one of my most favorite poems of all time. SO beautiful, & poignant!
