It All Started Like A Dream Poem by Raimi Babatunde

It All Started Like A Dream

It all started like a dream
And dreams are necessary to life
These are the real Slay Queens
The best representation of *DovePlete*
If anyone asks you why?
Tell them my friends made distinction

Together we toiled studiously
Burnt midnight candles
You all held me in your arms
We flowed together in style
How can I forget you all
Rolling with you all made the journey great

Let me start with my school mother
You are the sister I never had; Dr. Olufunke Obadina
You have the wisdom above your age
Princess (Dr.) Derin, your cost accounting note, my Counsellor
Shall I mention, my Biologist Happiness Egwuatu
I miss our evening rides and gists

Have you met Bukola Osimade?
She gave me a simple formula for success
I once asked her if she had a sister!
Please don't tell her I told you
Let me tell what they have in common
They are all Dovians!

Raise the flag, stand at ease
Here comes our academic giants
My friends, my buddies, my coursemates
Sound it to the next generation
Take a ride with Dove Consult
And your MBA will be a walk over

Thank you Prof. Stanley
"But you like money sha"
"Mun gode" Olubox, you are a great teacher
"Daalu" Segun, you are the real deal
"Uwese Abigail", I miss our flirts (Winks)
For all Dovians, we say "Thank you"

When you see my Acturus
Please tell I "kiss" her, miss her I meant
And to you all, you've got abragging right
By virtue of your convocation
Welcome to the proud Alumni of Akokaites
With open hands we open our doors

Did you miss it somehow
Project, carry over, missing result?
Relax, the end justifies the means
This is just the beginning, not a terminus
Every set back, is a set up for a come back
One thing though, never give up!

My pen still drips for you all
I wish I could hug you all
Did you smile when my name popped?
Because each time I remember you all
I feel humbly proud to identify with you
From me
