Sitting in a restaurant
Over a cup of coffee
And silently having our dinner
With hardly anything exciting

Yes with advance in age everything looks dry and as if loosing charms and appeals no more to us, hence cold reaction to all......whereas children are spirited and bubbling with energy so they react without inhibition....... Valsa.....this is wonderfully scripted with amazing lines.....10/10
The wonderful way in which children express their feelings without inhibition and the manner in which we bottle up our emotions is truly due to aging. Beautiful portrayal, Valsa!
I enjoy each line of this poetical story...and the ending was so nice with the question that embark the meaning of our life in journey in us_Soul
Thank you dear Valsa for this wonderful poem! Reminding me of the children's way to express happiness, yeey! I hope one day to have the kids in my neighbourhood teaching us the adults, bringing back the truthful joy you pointed here in this poem.. A very inspiring poem, loved it!
Many aged are 17 inside and while seeming bored and suppressed by norms are ageless but compliant. I love the raucous little kids with joy all over spilled and know too soon it will be curbed and muted conformity will slip them into adulthood with grim and worldly woes and yet we should keep the mix of youthful awe and drab old age composed. A fine write and a great conversation.
I do think we lose the freedom of expression as we age, everything become's routine and our great passion for life begins to fade like day to night but I believe we can ignite our passion for life again! Beautiful write!
Age has always been graceful and acceptance of age is maturity but a child like heart erupts again and one can experience childlike enthusiasm mentally if not physically. A beautiful composition.
This is what we call aging and change of times. You had your fun long long ago and you can again have it in your grand children's company if they too go a little non conventional while then.
Dear Tajudeen Your analysis of the situation is quite correct. I always feel that you carry the comments to such an extent, that they have greater depth than the poems themselves. Yes aging has many advantages: it transforms our childish babblings into wise sayings. As Browning says... Grow old along with me/ The best is yet to be. Still, when time like a winged bird, whizzes past making our youth turn into old age, we are prone to ask..... 'where are the songs of spring? '..... Thanks for taking the time to make such an analytical and beautiful comment!
Aging is not sitting and settling in silence or wishing to be in tranquility. The wonder you have experienced upon looking the twin children was a thoughtful comparison of the present and the past yourself been through. True, reactions to situations and degree of emotions vary based on many factors. Above the state of metabolism, the company with whom we are too might add excitement and craving in eating, drinking, and many other such instances of life. Your observation and thoughts have resulted in this wonderful verse, which, as this humble mortal do, many aging members would sure to enjoy and would engage in gathering such priceless beads of the past to compare and conceive, regret and rejoice, find solace in their current age, thinking of those aged than them and even about those who have turned stars even! Aging is a blessing, as babbles might transform into wise sayings. In tender ages, even if one wishes, would not be able to measure the worth and gravity of this most complex phenomenon; LIFE. Aging would only open those heavy doors of intellectual treasures, that all futurity might well be able to dine upon and preserve for the generations that might sprout on the blessed Time-Tree. Your verse still prompts me to keep writing.. wonderful experience. God Bless.
a marvellous write Valsa Mam.........u have created a sense of ecstasy and joy in your poem along with the loneliness and craving of old age............with time, so many things change, ....we crave for the lost days......for the noise of our kids, to play with them, to dance and laugh with them.......a superb write.....11/10
Dear Valsa this poem has sprung up directly from your heart so touches the heart even at first quick reading, So truly you have depicted your feelings.Aging is like calm seas, , deep and mysterious hiding many treasures. Very beautiful write it deserves to be nominated as poem of the day.
Thanks for the memory Valsa as the saying goes. Even though age has crept upon us it still does not mean we are to succumb to it. We can still enjoy an ice cream cone or ride or even watch an old cartoon with laughter and excitement. There is always that child within us. A very inspiring write my dear.
A panorama with eyes open watching and watching Valsa you made these words an ocean each Is this what we call aging? The death of spring, the summer’s dirge or the chill wave of winter’s blast? ? Aging is our manifest in fact Valsa it isn't a relay race one ends is others beginning and result includes both thank
Very beautiful narration which like a creeping plant advances; the comparison quite realistic. I give 10/10
Much has been said about this poem, what can I add, all that can I say, it; s a great poem from a great poetess but I miss something, why can't I may rate it above ten. May I suggest the editors of PH, add an above 10' for the raters and the poets.
