Is It Too Much To ask Poem by Muhammad Umair

Is It Too Much To ask

Once in a while,
To leave a message,
Asking how I have been.
I will not crow out loud how very, very
Dejected, sorrowful, annihilated
And lonely I have been.
How much I wanted you to
Check up on me. I will keep things
Casual. I promise.
Is it too much to ask to
Have a cup of tea, smoke a gasper
With me on some weekend?
I will not make you realize
How much I was looking forward to it.
And talking—I'd not be loquacious.
Would throw words ingenerously,
As if I wasn't dying on inside to talk to you.
For once,
Float with the winds and
When I open my door,
Stand outside. I will not tell you
How my door opened many, many times,
And each time my eyes sought you,
But it was just the wind.
Is it too much to ask?
