Can it be it's a sin if I rest in God's Grace?
Might this posture endanger my soul?
Is God's Grace call to action that I have to face?
Is the heart that I've given Him whole?
First three "Yes, " the last "No, " if our head is on straight,
For humility's close kin of trust,
Though we're dense, at times hate, may God's love penetrate
Life He wondrously formed from star's dust!
If believer sins still, can Grace ever be his?
What no man may deserve, God can give!
Though we scheme to be safe, who can answer life's quiz,
Through repentance of sin do we live!
Let pursuit of God's smile be my purpose in life
God forbid I should be just His toy,
Let me praise him through time both in song and with fife
With God's judgment the source of my joy.
