Is Bombay Dying? Poem by narayana aghalaya

Is Bombay Dying?

is Bombay dying?
perhaps no, but it saddens
city.is crying
overflowing filth.maddens
noise and stench, spirit dampens

richest few live there
so do the poorest, in.slums
peace and calm nowhere
on roads to strangers we bump
in.our throats there is.a lump

to live one jostles
most houses are match boxes
tempers cause tangles
soaps with gory climaxes
take minds off matters that tax

built with playing cards
apartments now and then fall
some under, die hard
they are rebuilt, much more tall
much demand, be sold, it shall

ultras love Mumbai
one small bomb can.kill hundreds
deadly trade they ply
amidst huge crowds unhindered
and escape, as cops blunder

is Mumbai Shanghai?
with a dream- good.to start
the bad we should bye
get on board - good guys with.heart
with ideas to impart
